Finally!

This morning in my bed just wake up ... I was thinking about my schedule for this beautiful sunny day.
I dreamed a little way. Suddenly I feel a tremendous urge to write! YES finally. Let's go and start the wonderful day!

Last week I was a little bit distracted, I suffered from writer's block.  Looks familiar?
But as of today I'll go for it! So let’s go back to the essence of this post.  I’ll give you a sneak preview!

Last week I was visiting  my lovely hair stylist and friend Guido Rieger, Co-Owner of the amazing hair salon CDM Hair and Faces in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

It's been a while since I saw him.. and I've truly missed him. Guido, is such an inspirational person.. I love being around him.

I walked into the salon and bam ... what an inspiration, a wonderful feeling embraced me, very nice to be back here again! Guido and I have such great plans, together we share the same passion, fashion in the square. Hence the fact  that we bundle the ideas together and create something amazing.  Guido travels a lot besides working in the salon. For example, for weddings, he takes care of the brides of the most beautiful hair and make-up. And also to provide training on behalf of Kevin Murphy. The products of Kevin Murphy are amazing!

Unfortunately due to my current busy schedule today. I'll tell you more about CDM Hair and Faces, Giedo Rieger and of course about the products from Kevin Murphy in my next post.

Friday a Brand New Sunny Day!

It's springtime!  
For this lovely sunny day, I chose a delicious salad from Nigella Lawson's recipes, enjoy!

  

Crab & Advocado Salade With Japanese Dressing

 

INGREDIENTS

• 2 x 15 ml tablespoons mirin (Japanese sweet rice wine)
• 1/2 teaspoon wasabi paste
• 1 x 15ml tablespoon rice vinegar
• Few drops sesame oil
• 1/2 teaspoon Maldon salt or 1/4 teaspoon table salt
• 1 long red chilli pepper, deseeded and finely chopped
• 200g crab meat
• Approx. 1 teaspoon lime juice
• 150g rocket salad
• 1 ripe avocado
• 1-2 teaspoons chopped chives

Serves: 4

1. In a bowl that will take the crab meat later, whisk together the mirin, wasabi paste, rice vinegar, sesame oil and salt. Then remove about 4 teaspoons to another big bowl large enough to fit your salad.
2. To the first, more generous amount of dressing, add the finely chopped chilli and then the crab meat, and fork through to mix thoroughly.
3. To the small amount of dressing in the other bowl, add the lime juice and then the salad leaves and toss well to mix, before arranging on four plates.
4. Spoon a quarter of the mixture into a metal American 1/3-cup measure, or a small ramekin, squishing down to get it all in, then unmould in the centre of a salad-lined plate.
5. Just turn over, tap and the crab meat should fall out. Repeat with the remaining crab meat and the 3 other plates.
6. Using a rounded teaspoon measure, scoop out curls or humps of avocado and dot around on top of the salady bits. Spritz with a little lime juice.
7. Sprinkle the chopped chives over the mounds of crab and take the plates to the table.

My Ultimate Style Icons

Vandaag post ik een stukje over mijn ultieme stijliconen. Wat is een stijlicoon precies, een stijlicoon is een man of vrouw die qua voorkomen, uitstraling en outfits, het dichts bij jou stijl ID komt.

Door de jaren heen zijn er diverse vrouwen gebombardeerd als zijnde stijl Icoon, ik zal er een paar, in willekeurige volgorde, noemen: Kate Moss, Sarah Jessica Parker in “Sex in the City” Madonna, Lady Gaga, Birgitte Bardotte, Coco Chanel, Jackie Onassis, Sylvie van der Vaart, Marilyn Monroe,  al deze vrouwen hebben zelf ook weer ieder hun eigen voorbeeld, hun stijl icoon.  De definitie van een stijlicoon staat niet vast, de betekenis kan voor een ieder verschillend zijn. Ik zelf zie een stijlicoon zo: De vrouw die mij inspireert qua creaties, uiterlijk, haar hele voorkomen, de outfits die ze draagt, de uitstraling, dit zijn voor mij de absolute ingrediënten, die mijn ultieme stijlicoon moet hebben, de vrouw waarbij ik het  "WAUW" gevoel krijg.

Nu terug naar de essentie van mijn post, mijn ultieme stijliconen!

Mijn ultieme stijlicoon aller tijden is o.a. Brigitte Bardot, in haar jongeren jaren een fenomeen, een charismatische vrouw, haar Big hair, haar outfits, de mond, Smokey eyes, kortom haar hele voorkomen, in 1 woord geweldig!

Naast Birgitte Bardot, staan Coco Chanel en zeker ook Jackie Onassis of terwijl Jackie O in mijn ultieme lijst, zij zijn niet niet alleen waanzinnig mooie vrouwen, ze hebben charisma, de outfits die zij droegen en creeerde zijn werkelijk adembenemend, zij inspireren mij ten top en niet alleen maar mijn persoon, velen vrouwen onder ons hebben deze vrouwen als hun stijlicoon, neem nou bijvoorbeeld de oprichtster van het fantastisch mooie label LaDress, Simone, zij ontwerpt waanzinnig mooie creaties, Simone Van Trojen, zij heeft zich tevens laten inspireren door Jackie O. 

3 vrouwen die in mijn ogen het ultieme voorkomen bezitten, de creaties, de uitstraling, de looks, het hele plaatje!

Zo ie zo, ben ik, een groot fan van de mode uit de jaren 50 en 60, de creaties die de vrouwen des tijd droegen, op en top elegantie, vrouwelijk, subtiel en absoluut tijdloos. Een perfect voorbeeld hiervan zijn de creaties van Chanel, nog altijd zeer geliefd.

Om weer terug te komen in het heden, op het moment, is er nog een vrouw die mij absoluut inspireert en ik tevens wil toevoegen aan mijn ultieme rij stijl iconen;  Olivia Palermo, wauw, zij is niet alleen bloedmooi, ‘she got the skills to look fabulous!” zie hieronder haar outfit, die zij droeg tijdens de New York Fashion Week 2012.  (Bron, Harpers Bazar, streetstyle looks NYFW 2012)

De stijl, het outfit, de kleur, haar uitstraling, ja er is zelfs een shiny little detail, “the belt”, aanwezig, Ik hou van details, zo belangrijk, (in mijn ogen) om een outfit compleet af te maken. Olivia Palermo is, zoals ik een vrouw graag zie, vrouwelijk, elegant met een vleugje stoer.

 Tot zover mijn post over mijn ultieme stijl iconen, ik duik weer verder in de wereld vol Inspiratie.

"Niet Denken, Maar Doen"

 “Niet denken, maar doen” is mijn nieuwe, in ere herstelde motto, hoogste tijd dit motto weer eens uit de mottenballen te toveren, het laatste half jaar was het namelijk meer denken en niet doen...

De afgelopen weken begon het al te kriebelen, popte het “motto” diversen keren in mijn hoofd op, Manoux... niet denken maar doen!

Ik zal het maar verklappen, ik, ja ik, ik ben een denker, denken, denken en nog eens denken... om er zo af en toe helemaal gek van te worden! Vast heel herkenbaar voor sommige onder jullie.... Vaak heb ik de meest fantastische ideeën, ben ik razend enthousiast, mijn ideeën dwarrelde rond, op zo’n moment denk ik, hoe ga ik dit aanpakken, denk te lang na, om na een tijdje tot de conclusie te komen, dat ik wederom niets heb ondernomen met mijn fantastische ideeën...BAM weg inspiratie, om werkelijk moe van te worden... gelukkig voor mij, komen de ideeën vanzelf wel weer een keer in mijn gedachte langs... dus, ga ik het nu anders aanpakken! “Ik voeg de daad bij het woord”

Mijn “Motto” Niet denken maar doen, is herboren, afgestoft en wel vanmorgen, ik stond op, na gisteren avond mijn woonkamer annex werkruimte compleet te hebben gerestyled, voelde ik me als herboren, ik heb een heerlijke fantastische ruimte gecreëerd, waar ik naar hartenlust kan werken, wonen en genieten van alles wat mooi is en op mij af komt... inderdaad, jullie raden het al...., ik dacht, nu is het afgelopen met ALLEEN MAAR denken, FOCUS, actie in de tent en knallen... lieve mensen, jullie zullen nog veel van mij horen en/of zien want deze dame, gaat haar motto in goud om zetten!

 “NIET DENKEN, MAAR DOEN!”
